What are the different types of Gravies for Punjabi Dishes?

Punjabi cuisine is one of the most liked cuisines in the country by young and old alike.  The kind of assortment we could find in this region is really unique which gives the dishes a distinct flavor and amazing taste.  To mention just a few of the gravies that are regularly prepared in the Punjabi cuisine, there is the kadai gravy, the white gravy and the Makhni gravy that will help the cooking buffs get an amazing quality and taste in their cooking.  These gravies can be prepared in advance and frozen too so that one could readily take them out and stir up a tasty delight whenever the need arises in the form of surprise guests.

Kadai gravy that is made out of tomatoes, coriander seeds, dry red chillies, garlic, green chillies, ginger, garam masala and kasuri methi gives a taste that is totally out of the world.  Shahi paneer or Paneer Pasinda could be made with white gravy…the kadai vegetables or kadai paneer with the kadai gravy.  All these are bound to help you make lip smacking dishes that will leave you with finger licking taste.

There are gravies that can be made with onions and tomatoes finely made into a paste.  Green chillies have a specific flavor to them and bring about a peculiar aroma to the dish.  Same applies to the red chillies too.  Cashewnuts is another ingredient that will act as a wonderful base for preparing rich and highly nutritious Punjabi gravies.

White gravy is prepared by making a mix of onions, cashew nuts, garlic, ginger, cardamoms, cloves, bay leaf and green chillies.  Addition of dahi to the curry adds more richness and thickness as well to the curry.

Makhni gravy includes ingredients like onions, ginger, garlic, cashew nuts, chilli powder, tomato puree, cumin seed powder, garam masala powder, kasuri methi and honey to add to the taste.  Ingredients like milk, butter and cream are added.

The kadai gravy recipe can be used to make either kadai mixed veg curry or kadai mushroom or kadai paneer curry.  Makhni gravy can be used to make any Makhni dish that would add more joy to the happiness of the people enjoying food.

Punjabi cuisine dishes and gravies do not lose out on the nutrition aspect and hence are considered to be healthy to consume and extremely rich in their quality and taste as well.
